2024 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball Blaster Box
2024 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball is probably exactly what you’d expect if you’ve been following the brand for any amount of time. It’s another edition of “anything goes” with baseball players past and present mixing on the checklist with everything from celebrities, other athletes, yummy snacks and nature.
Once again, hobby boxes deliver three hits including autographs, memorabilia cards, other relics, rip cards or original Allen & Ginter cards from more than a century ago.
2024 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball Checklist Overview
The base set has the customary 350 cards, the final 50 of which are short prints. At every other hobby pack, they’re not rare but it does make building a full set a little more challenging. As far as players go, it’s a broad mix of veterans, rookies and retired players. But wait, there’s more. It’s Allen & Ginter so that means some non-baseball people including athletes from other sports, actors, musicians, Suvivor hosts and more.
Parallels come in several forms. Many, though, are in a Mini format mimicking the original Allen & Ginter tobacco cards from the late 1800s.
Select cards also have some rare minis including Stained Glass, Cloth and Wood.
New to the main Allen & Ginter line this year are Chrome cards. These take 100 base cards and give them a metallic makeover for both standard and mini sizes. Both also have additional Refractors.
Autographs and Memorabilia Cards
The main source of signatures are framed Mini Baseball Autographs. More than 150 players are available so it’s a big list. Like the base set, it’s a mix of past and present. In addition to these are more than 50 Mini Non-Baseball Autographs. Signers this year include Usain Bolt, Chuck Norris, Jeff Probst and Danielle Fishel who played Topanga on Boy Meets World.
Cut Signatures, Cut Signature Relics and Autographed Relic Book cards are among the other places on the 2024 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball checklist to find signed cards.
Memorabilia cards take on three main formats. Full-sized cards come in two different designs. There are also framed minis that are similar to autographs only with swatches instead of signatures.
Lineup Card Relics and Mini DNA Relics with dinosaur pieces are also available.
Inserts
Where the eclectic nature of Allen & Ginter really comes through is with its inserts. There are a lot of them, both traditionally sized and minis. While baseball themes are heavily featured, so are others that have nothing to do with the sport.
Standard-sized baseball inserts include In Action Variations and Cycle Succession. Among the minis are Rookie Design Variations, and scarce 2023 World Series Champion and Uniform Countdown.
Just to the side of baseball is Ballpark Bites. Available as both a mini set and as oversized boxloaders, these look at the snacks and treats available at baseball stadium concessions.
Looking to history and nature are 50 States Mini, Flags of the World Mini, Buzzin’, Batoids Beneath Mini, Swamp Creatures Mini, X-Ray’d, World’s Tallest Mountains, and Sister, Sister that looks at various sister cities from around the world.
Rip Cards return in 2024 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball. These are standard cards that have exclusive minis inside. The Rip Cards themselves come in both single- and dual-player versions. There are also oversized boxloaders with multiple minis.
As for the cards inside, most are mini cards that expand the base parallels to 400 total cards. Artist Originals are also among the possibilities.
