2023/24 Upper Deck Synergy Hockey Hobby Box
For 2023-24 Upper Deck Synergy Hockey, inserts continue to be the main draw. The product has an eclectic checklist that features insert cards prominently while making base cards one of the major chases. Just like past Synergy sets, it’s completely by design.
2023-24 Upper Deck Synergy Hockey Checklist Overview
Despite having just 125 cards, the main set breaks down into four distinct sections: Veterans (#1-60), Legends (#61-75), Rookies (#76-115) and Rookies SP (#116-125). But there’s a catch. No matter the section, all regular base cards are extremely scarce. Veterans and Legends come numbered to just 14 while Rookies and Rookies SPs have 24 (the SP nature comes through in the parallels).
While the base cards themselves are tough, it’s a flip for the parallels. Every pack has a Red version. Of these, half can be used for the product’s Bounty program. Purple parallels come numbered to 99.
Some base cards also have signed versions. Purple Autographs are numbered to 65 or less for vets, 35 and under for Legends and 99 or fewer for rookies.
The Rookies SP tier also has Portrait Variations numbered to 14 along with Autograph Red (/25) and Purple (/10) versions.
Inserts Galore
2023-24 Upper Deck Synergy Hockey has a large mix of inserts. Some are returning themes but the checklist also has several debuts.
Rookie Journey returns with each featured player getting three different cards: Draft, Home Uni and Away Uni. Base versions have 999 copies each with additional Red (/599), Green (/399) and Gold (/199) also available.
It’s a similar structure and parallel lineup for Synergisitic Duos. Versions here include Current Stars, Star & Legend, and Star & Rookie.
More serial-numbered inserts are available in Light Up the Night (/999). Pink (/699), Blue (/499), Green (/199) and Gold (1/1) are also part of the lineup. There are also Light Up the Night Autographs that top out at 99 copies for vets and 149 for rookies.
Cranked Up! (/849) combine to fall three per hobby box. The additional colors here are Red (/599), Blue (/399), Purple (/199), Green (/49), Pink (/25), Black (/10) and Gold Spectrum (1/1).
Metal Cast for Greatness cards return, landing 1:56 packs. Autographs for these have 25 copies each.
New additions to Synergy include Fearless Leaders (1:32 packs), Flammable! (1:32 packs), Let’s Goooooooo! (1:32 packs), Barnburners (1:53 packs) and Waffleboarded (1:80 packs).
Going back in time is Starquest ’98 Retro, which has Blue (/199), Green (/99) and Red (/49) versions as well as Gold Autographs (/5).
Rounding out the standard inserts are Star of the Show (1:4 packs), 2030 (1:5 packs), and Thrill Rides (1:7 packs).
Standalone autograph insert sets are Sygnatures (1:160 packs), Sygnatures Rookies (1:68 packs) and Greater Than Signatures (1:192 packs).
Bounty Program
2023-24 Upper Deck Synergy Hockey has a Bounty program revolving around the Red parallels. The first 25 collectors to build and register the complete set with code versions receive a Gold parallel set. On top of that, the first 10 also receive a Cast for Greatness Gold set.
